Ambiance: Small, narrow, train-car-like establishment. About eight tables and six stools at the counter. Kitchen grill right out in the open, so you can watch your food being prepared. Service: Good and efficient, but when they get busy and people start stacking up at the entrance, the service begins to suffer. Food: Mixed bag. First off, their waffles are pretty good (almost as good as my homemade). I like the strawberry bits option. Fake butter spread is a downer. Also, their hashbrowns are pretty decent, and can be jazzed up with a number of available "mix-ins" or toppings. Not greasy and all "gelled" together like those terrible hashbrowns you get at places like Denny's and I-Hop. Bacon is thin and fatty, not so good. Eggs are unremarkable (standard coffee-shop fare). All your items (waffles, hashbrowns and bacon, arrive at different times on different plates, which is kind of disconcerting.) Overall, I am surprised to say I can recommend this place, but only for their good waffles and hashbrowns. Open 24 hours for the night owls.

Fine snicker away! Go ahead! I told you so is not necessary. I realize eating here isn't my finest moment, but this my friends was the absolute worst in greasy spoon dining experience. Watching my food being prepared was in my mind like being on Fear Factor...I should have been paid to eat here and not the other way around. Here's the grossness: -Bonus material in my water -we had to ask twice for cream and silverware (15 minutes later we finally got it) -watching food being cooked- kitchen looked disgustingly dirty -food tasted like crap. I had scrambled eggs, grits, waffle, and bacon. Everything was awful!!! Even the waffle?? How are waffles bad?? -our waitress sucked bad the 42 cents I left for a tip was waaay too much -sign that said profanity is not allowed Fuck this place it tasted like shit! Don't do it!

WH is a staple in the Dirty South. I thought I'd try and get some home away from home lovin' here in the Springs. Didn't work. I sat at the counter for 15 minutes before my existence was acknowledged. This same hospitality was extended to the next two patrons that shuffled in after me. The food was typical WH fare, accept that here they serve your All-Star breakfast Dim Sum style. First up - Waffle. A few minutes later - sausage. 10 minutes later - a waitress from the other side of the room appears and wants to know if I "need anything else". "Yes" I replied, "the rest of my breakfast". "Well what did you order?" Anyways, it shouldn't be this difficult to get breakfast and refills on coffee.

OK.. I know what you're thinking... Waffle House?.. But I have to say, that as Diner food this place always delivers. Don't expect anything fancy, and the coffee isn't great but the service is exemplary, the food more than decent and it's close by wherever you are. Our Waffle House on Fillmore is a great place for a weekend breakfast. Simple, no frills fare. The place is always packed and the price is right.

Sat quickly which was nice. Place is relatively clean. The hash browns used to be the bomb here but not so much today ... maybe if they were hot and the waitress (who has an obvious drug situation - sad) hadnt screwed them up. But of course, THE WAFFLE WAS AS DELICIOUS AS EVER! My advice: stick with the waffles.

Okay, obviously, this is Waffle House. I did not go in expecting a 5-star dining experience, but the 1 star I am giving is generous. After a night of drinking and shenanigans, a friend and I stopped in here for some solid breakfast food and coffee. Our waitress was Bree (I only remember because the other employees just standing around would yell things at her across the diner) and she was awkward to say the least. We placed our order and got some coffee while we waited. While waiting on a refill, another employee came over to check our napkins...twice. And lingered a little bit too long each time. Creepy. But he didn't mention to Bree that we needed coffee, nor did she come back to check on us for another 5 minutes. She came back, we asked for more coffee and creamer, she topped off the cups and brought us a big mug full of creamer. In the same pass, she brought us a fork and spoon, then came back a few minutes later, telling us she "thought she forgot" our knives but that they were "just in her apron pocket". Both my friend and I are servers, we were immediately grossed out. Even if they were, you don't tell people that. How often do you wash your apron?? The food came and did the job. Wasn't great, but easy diner breakfast food was what we had expected. She dropped off our check and told us not to rush. After that moment, Bree disappeared completely. There were no other patrons in the place, but 5 employees standing around, laughing and being rowdy. We ate our food, while they all bs'd about customers, tips, the day they had, etc. Fine. I get slow moments. But Bree TOTALLY ignored us. We waited for 10 minutes with our cards out on the table, very obviously looking for Bree or trying to get someone's attention. (Being the only table at 11pm, I didn't think it would be so hard). We asked another employee who just happened to walk by if he could split our payment between two cards. We decided we just wanted to get out, and left $2 cash on the table (generous tip...) Bree then magically comes right back with our receipts, WATCHES us while we sign them (Way to make your customer uncomfortable...) and probably didn't see the cash on the table. When she saw I hadn't left a tip on the receipt, her whole demeanor changed. No "thank you", no "goodbye", just grabbed her receipts and joined the gaggle of employees at the end of the counter. After walking out the door, we realized Bree was pointing at us, obviously yelling and cussing to her other employees probably about the tip. Here's a tip from two servers, Bree. Get some courtesy, social skills and better awareness before you get upset with a table for a crappy tip. If I had a quarter, I would have left that instead.

Good cheap simple food, often over crowded due to its size but worth the wait, The service stinks but for the price I don't expect more than 2 cups of coffee. The dollar burger is fresh and way better than Mcdonalds just not as fast.

We traveled from Denver to the Springs Sat for a gig. On Sun we all went to this location with a group of 12 people all on separate checks. We chose the location because it is off I25 and would be hitting the road after. 10 people left and paid while two late comers finished, they detained them and required them to pay an additional $42 saying some had not paid before leaving. People were called and receipts were brought back in to verify that all had been paid. The refund was given for the additional $42 but what a fiasco!!!

My first trip to a Waffle House ever. I've heard the stories. Had to see for myself. Our friends were in town from Vegas so we did the whole sightseeing in Colorado Springs thing. then after our friend that has actually been to a Waffle House said we HAD to go since we'd never been. It was a mistake. We arrived and the place was semi-busy. People were actually starting to clear out a few minutes after being seated. Waffle Houses are pretty small everywhere you go and the booths are very small so we were pretty crammed in with 4 adults and 1 kiddo. We were told after sitting down that they were short staffed and had only 1 cook so the wait may be a little longer than usual. Okay, we understood. They took our drink order and we proceeded to figure out what we wanted to eat. A few minutes later they took our food order. About 25 minutes went by, and our drink order arrived, minus a drink. Our lunch order arrived about 30 minutes later. Now, we understood at the beginning that they were short staffed but to watch the waitresses have a conversation with our plates of food in their hands for a few mintues before giving it to us..that is a whole other issue. Then we got to hear about other customers basically dining and dashing due to the food they received and the service they got. When telling the waitress I was missing a part of my food order she apologizes and says she'll get that going right away (it was just toast). At this time, we still haven't even recieved our missing drink order. A few more minutes go by and we tell her I'm still missing my toast. She says "oh! why did I forget that? I was supposed to bring that to you!" Hm. I dont know why you forgot that? Then we finally get the other drink order and get the same reply. I was pretty furious by this point, as were our visiting guests. I've never had that kind of service anywhere in my entire life. The food, yeah it's a waffle house, I knew what to expect with the food. But the service?! I work in the customer service industry and I just shake my head thinking about this experience. Only saving grace they had was that they offered us a discount for military service without us having to inquire about one. We got our bill and split it between the two parties. Something was going on with our account and instead of apologizing and quietly telling us the issue in private, the waitress tells us exactly how much the card was authorizing for so that everyone could hear. I've had to do that at my company and to have her just blurt that out like that was horrible. Show some tact and discretion please!! I suggest the employees there recieve better training on what to do when they are short staffed. Or maybe management should think about hiring some more employees to work during a Saturday lunch hour! I think there is another Waffle House in the Colorado Springs area, so I suggest going to that one.

Waffle House is my drug of choice when I'm out of state on business. With all that per diem I get, why go and spend pennies on greasy foodstuffs when I could be eating steak and lobster every day? Probably because WH serves some of the best comfort food a dude on business can eat. The establishment makes you feel like you're at home when you're away from home. I usually sit at the bar and order me up some of the best hashbrowns I've ever had. I usually get mine like this: Smothered (onions) Covered (cheese) Chunked (Ham) Peppered (Jalapenos) Double-Diced (Extra tomatoes) with a plain waffle as my breakfast of choice. The hashbrowns come out piping hot. The extra tomatoes give it full flavor. The jalapenos give it the kick that you want. I usually sprinkle a little tabasco since I like to spice up my food. The picante sauce thats on the table is also good to try if you want to add a little more flavor to your 'browns, but its not spicy. The waffle is pretty simple, but tastes oh-so-good. It's pretty thin and soft inside and out. They give you some warm butter and room-temperature syrup to top it off. Their coffee is also very tasty, up to par with Dunkin' Donuts in my opinion. The great thing about this meal: It's all under 10 bucks. I tip pretty liberally since its so cheap too! I haven't tried any of their other items, but I hear that their breakfast sandwich is pretty good. So the only question that remains is why aren't there any WHs in California?? Probably the same reason there aren't any In-and-Outs on the East Coast. Nuff' said. 4-greasy stars.
